Quandry . . .
Here's my issue --
I have two articles I want to revise and send out. I have been checking the usual Irish journals, yet these seem to be putting out special topic editions with guest editors. Should I just send the articles to the journals and hope that they fit a special issue in the future? Or should I look other places?

Your thoughts?

Start your own journal. You can call it "Quandry."

What about sending one to one of the usual journals, and one to a wholly different journal? In terms of developing your tenure profile, would there be interest in seeing you publish in a multi-field journal--i.e., the equivalent of me sending something to both Chaucer Review and PMLA, or the Yearbook of Langland Studies and the Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies?

For some reason, PMLA scares me! But point taken. I need to get over myself and just send out to those journals I always thought were unreachable.
Thanks!
